I had dinner with a Jewish New Yorker who moved to an illegal West Bank settlement but found the time to declare that Mamdani was “really scary”.

If I had a nickle for every time I was having dinner with someone who seemed alright, before they denied warcrimes in Gaza, Brazil, or Korea during the late 1500s during dinner, I’d have 20 cents.

Talking about the history a fortress I visited played in the imjin war with a japanese person I’d been traveling with who didnt get a chance to go. A lot of “well nobody knows what really happened”, and a lot of interesting opinions on the impact Japan has has on Korean and Chinese culture.

You would think that if the rent stayed affordable on New York, less New Yorkers would feel the need to go steal a house on the West Bank. Maybe that’s why the Zionists are so up in arms about the whole thing.

Almost as if the current Israeli government is the most antisemitic organization in the world, by far surpassing actual neonazi groups as far as hate speech, racism, and terrorism.
