The politicization of law enforcement has acquired a new dimension during the ongoing immigration crackdowns, when the Administration has sometimes seemed to allow its agents to disguise their identities or affiliations so that it is often unclear to detainees whose custody they are in, or under what authority. (If the vigilantes have been encouraged to act as cops, the actual cops have also been encouraged to act a bit more like vigilantes.)
The more law enforcement on the streets the easier it is to pretend to be one. We don’t need now police. We need more teachers, Mental health professionals, social workers, doctors, and moral philosophers. Not police
Anyone wearing a mask, refusing to identify themselves, and ordering people around is not law enforcement. Especially when they put their hands on people. They are criminals attempting to do harm. Respond accordingly.
THEY ARE NOT ICE UNLESS THEY IDENTIFY THEMSELVES AS SUCH.
