    I see it as a huge win; even, don’t laugh, even from the ecological standpoint.

      Quite likely the people go somewhere else, so i doubt this will really mater in a ecological pov

        If Europeans take a weeklong train trip across their continent instead a transatlantic flight, it would be a W for the climate.

          Totally, but I don’t think the people who’d fly to us are similar to the people who’d take a week-long train trip. Maybe the group who’d go to us nature reserves would stay closer to home. People going on a city trip to miami or new York for example would now maybe choose Tokyo or Rio de Janeiro. People who’d go to US for a camper road trip would go to Canada or SE Asia for example.
