Ok, interested. Looks like a project to support with real money. I’m in.
If the price of their product feels steep, it’s not that bad actually. I paid over 600 € to f@ckin’ Google for a device to run GrapheneOS on :o)
Anyone knows if they’ll have everything upstreamed in the kernel?
Edit: also, if they’ll go through the trouble of getting Google to consider some form of android as verified per the Google play integrity API? (Pls work with the graphene folks)
I’m thinking Waydroid or something alike with Gapps installed with a burner G account. That can be spun up when parking app or work benefits app are needed, as these are the only two normie apps in my life that require the googly bits. Same drill as I do with GrapheneOS now - second user profile with Google enabled that only runs a minute if i need to pay for parking or a meal :)
My only issue is banking apps that require the play integrity API
We’ll go with bare-metal Linux—no Halium, no libhybris. We want to stay as close to mainline as possible and actively contribute upstream.
We’ll develop everything openly. Our policy is to publish code, collaborate with the community, and be transparent. Free software, for us, is a matter of principle—not just legal compliance.
That’s the intent, at least:
Are you intending to ship a (close to) mainline kernel, or a Board Support Package (BSP)/vendor kernel and make it work with a libhybris/Halium approach?
