And usually by the time they break they have been obsolete anyways, at least for 24/7 use in a NAS where storage density and energy efficiency are a big concern. So you would have replaced most of them long before they break, even with recertified drives

If the battery is dead how can they turn it on to find out what the problem is? Literally an unsolvable problem.
Takes 5 seconds to probe the battery with a multimeter and see its dead. Those are basic troubleshooting steps that some 10 year olds can do, let alone a professional repair shop.
And any device built to be serviceable has diagnostic probing points on the pcb for stuff like this, even iPhones
Interesting, I have a lot less problems with the Cloudflare verification, than with Google captchas. The slightest unusual thing seems to put you in captcha hell
