Couldn’t agree more. I guess what baffled me was all the years it was pushed on me. Canterbury Tales in space. Got it. Didn’t much care for the thing when Mrs. Baker was pushing allegorical shit and what not and I’m not digging it now that everyone is nothing I’m interested in rooting for. Harumph!
I fucking did not like that book. I did not like any of the characters. Grrrr to that book. That is all. I guess in saying I wouldn’t go more Hyperion. Do Revelation Space Series. Much better.

Beautiful human by the name of Yusuf. Every time we’d enter his shop it was just one put up after another. We actually were able to secure his citizenship and help him immigrate, which was a rare success story from my experience. All 7 shop owners my first go around were dispatched. Family and all. Horrific.
Yusuf, how goes it my friend?

Yeah, I am my own reminder that people can change. I did 20 plus and 3 tours in gwot, and all I want now is a socialist utopia free of just about everything I supposedly fought for. The only thing keeping the assholes in power is their ability to limit the truth. We are at that tip of the truth spear now, and we just gotta keep sharpening and educating. I’m so grateful for you, friend, and all you do for our species.
DaMonsterKnees@lemmy.worldto NonCredibleDefense@lemmy.world•The three kinds of National Guard servicecrittersEnglish1·6 months agoIn my defense, 9/11 happened, and I was 18, and the internet wasn’t the machine for social justice it is now. The funny thing is, kids will read that now and think I’m cracked. Naw dawg. As bad as things are now, we’re organizing, and we’re getting our ducks in a row like never before. I give this 4th Reich two years tops. Already, I’m reading about general labor strikes. Sometimes, it takes a mess to get things back on track.
