I’ve had this experience before. I was excited to talk about what I learnt whilst volunteering for a war museum, and wanted to share my excitement with people. Got accused of Mansplaining. It really was upsetting, since I was just talking about a lovely experience and didn’t want to upset nor offend anyone…

It’s much easier to corrupt minds through surprise mentions of anchovy sandwiches on the Internet.

I am genuinely truthful in my story haha, she’s an awesome cat!
JadenSmith@sh.itjust.workstoMicroblog Memes@lemmy.world•It always seems to match their personalities at leastEnglish499·6 days agoI have a girl cat named Preggo.
We rescued her during a tornado storm, in Arkansas, and we thought she was pregnant so I just called her Preggo.
By the time we got her to the vet we found out she’s not pregnant, just fat and weird, however by that time she got used to being called Preggo so we just kept that up.
Depends. I think I remember what I want to remember, however what I want to remember is remembered quite well. Although sometimes it is confusing to some people what I choose is important to remember.
If anyone knows how to forget the I Love Egg song in its entirety, please let me know. It’s been 19 years.

JadenSmith@sh.itjust.worksto Reddit@lemmy.world•Reddit’s UK users must now prove they’re 18 to view many types of contentEnglish4·9 days agoThere’s already a big flaw in this, and it won’t work with teenagers.
If they want to access Reddit, they’ll just do something like grab a pic of their grandparent who never uses Reddit, sneak out their ID whilst they’re sleeping, and get verification without anyone getting notified.
Sounds extreme but I can just imagine teens doing this without issue. It would be extremely easy.

Like, do they think people did not know about 3d triangles a few thousand years ago or something?
Pretty much. That’s how I have 9. Occasionally hungry cats come to my garden for food. One of my best buddies passed away last year, I had built a cat house for him from a thing I got online, and I kept it there for other animals to use when the Winters come.
Recently a neighbour’s cat came to my garden, whilst they were out of the house, and she had an abscess on her face, so I was able to take her to the emergency vets and they sorted her out (was a Saturday).I don’t know if it’s just me being high, but I think animals can sense some shit. Was at a park with a buddy last Summer and I was kneeling down to read something on a rock, and a squirrel comes to me and is like, doing those hand gestures like it’s asking me for something. My mate gave him some BBQ Hula Hoops, and the little dude was ecstatic.
I’ve been carrying water with me ever since that day, like, it would be really cool if I feed an animal water on the random.

Having flown a fair bit, Heathrow always felt rather quiet. I flew out and back to Heathrow 3 times within the span of a year, recently, and didnt notice any background music - something I became familiar with in other airports. If this is how they’re planning to introduce some music I’m all for it.

Never get a spouses name tattooed. I was told not to, and I should have listened. This was 13 years ago and I will be finally getting around to it this year.
JadenSmith@sh.itjust.worksto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What was your biggest waste of money?English3·21 days agoa tattoo, and I didn’t even pay for it.
The reason it’s a waste is because it’ll cost £5-600 for a decent cover up. Essentially I got this to cover up… Terrible decision.
I have a variety of tattoos, and I only regret one of them. Still proud of the others decades later.

Wales did this. The effects of it really show, there’s a lot of greenery there (in a good way). If you’re lucky to get a holiday during good weather, it can be nice.
I knew about this before a bit, however in the museum they have a few bits dedicated to what information we have of Sophie Scholl and the White Rose resistance attempt.
As the Nazis tried vehemently to erase evidence of dissent, amongst other things of course, the story of Scholl’s attempt at gathering resistance has survived - despite her expected demise.
I have not read up on my History in many years, however it’s often a short yet symbolic read to the persistence some humans have shown in the face of terror. I do recommend it.
