That’s not rot. That’s bureaucratic seasoning. It’s what happens to bread when it has to wait for bureaucrats to get off their ass and do something.
This is my favorite critic’s review on Rotten Tomatoes.
There it is. The stupidest headline I’ve read all week.
I’m in .ml, severely anti-tankie and also a mod here. It is the main dev instance and has some of the largest tech communities in Lemmy.
These stupid motherfuckers give truckloads of money to bible thumping parasites instead of their own families and communities, then turn around and blame all their woes on immigrants, LGBTQ+, the left, the right, and even some made up shit like satan.
PS: Also, can anyone explain to me why Satan is the bad guy in that fairytale? He stands up for equal rights for his brethren by starting some angel union or some shit and he and all his homies get eternal punishment for it. Then, instead of rebelling further, he spends all his time revealing and punishing the wicked. That sounds like a stand up guy to me.
Y es indecente, es indecente
Gente sin casa
Casas sin gente
“No Hay Tanto Pan” – Silvia Perez Cruz
Translation:
And it’s indecent, it’s indecent
People without houses
Houses without people
You missed my point, but yes. I am well aware it is a privilege and that many cannot leave. That said, the barrier isn’t as high as you might think. My childhood friend is a Florida school teacher. Low pay , high debt and bankrupt twice. She’s leaving at the end of the year and already has a job lined up. My cousin with a government job is taking a position in Germany. The middle class can leave fairly easily.
But 30% of voting age Americans would still vote for him because he’s arresting brown people they don’t know.
I made peace with my country
Though I never could believe
Somebody else’s struggle
Is the reason that I flee
Can you carry more
If you leave me back?
What’s left to take?
Who’s lives come last?
– Excerpts from “Reverend” by Greensky Bluegrass
These lines from a brand new bluegrass song of all things have been living rent free in my mind. I’m not particularly oppressed, but witnessing the oppression of others has me wanting to leave. Once we run off all the immigrants, and all the people like me leave, will the people who vote for fascism and hatred in this country be able to keep it all from falling apart?
As a former Austin resident (East Austin before moved out in 2023), I can tell you that this is nothing new. Democrat legislators have had to flee numerous times in order to try to slow down Texas’ slide into authoritarianism. Austin dems have been down in the trenches fighting this shit for years before Trump came along but nobody paid attention, much less helped.
Like climate change or a frog slowly being boiled by raising the water temperature one degree at a time, Republican authoritarianism has been slow moving train-wrecked that many of us have been screaming about for years and nobody paid much attention to. Texas consistent low voter turnout can attest to that. Indifference has fucked us all.
Anybody have a non-TikTok video link?
I dated a more than a few chupathingys. Always a good time.
You don’t need A/C.
Source: I live in Wyoming.
Edit: I meant that you don’t need A/C in a cottage like the one pictured, not that A/C is unnecessary altogether. I used to live in Texas. No A/C will literally kill you in Texas, but in a wooded mountain cottage surrounded by trees like that, you don’t really need it. In my house in WY, the hottest it ever gets inside is 78 with low humidity. Below is the current temp in my room, with computers running, at 2:22PM.
Me, living in Wyoming with gigabit fibre:
Yes it’s a bit of a flex but I sold everything I owned in order to own a humble old house here and I am proud of it. Cow poop walls? No regrets.
