But the political opposition to stopkillinggames is far less.

We definitely want them to sweat.
I think the top comment is the real answer on this.
There is censorship in China, as well as in the west. They just operate very differently.
In the west, outside the US, I think it’d be fairly easy to argue there’s more censorship in China. (Even with the pretty depressing clamp down on right to protest, and suppressing of anti-israel speech in many forms happening at the moment)
Equally though, people massively overblow what censorship is actually like in China. I’m not gonna get disappeared next time I go to China just for this comment. Or even if I overtly criticised the government on real-name social media.
tl;dr “China bad!” and “China so good!” are both equally annoying positions to find on the internet.
Reality is nuanced, but that doesn’t seem to make people happy.
I’m just speculating how someone could possibly come up with such a bizarre “rule”

I feel like the OP of this verse definitely had this happen to him personally, and included this “rule” out of spite lol
It’s spaces like this I think of when people complain about modern open plan offices.
This is so claustrophobic, and luckily for me, I like a bit of chatter in the background.
MisterFrog@lemmy.worldto TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name@lemmy.world•with bean speed ahead2·7 days agoMy complaint is that the warp factor only goes to infinity in the first chart you provided (the old system. i.e. as v –> ∞, fw –> ∞). They changed it from v = fw3*c. So warp 3 was 27c for TOS and ENT: https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Warp_factor
Warp 10 being infinite is definitely cannon, just ask the haters what the worst episode of Star Trek Voyager is haha
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Threshold_(Star_Trek:_Voyager)
(The headline of this wiki article is a little off, he doesn’t travel “faster” than warp 10, he travels at warp 10)
Your second graph literally says “warp 10 is infinite velocity”, which is the new system. That there are 10 energy thresholds is cool world-building, but basing your velocity scale on it is annoying and unintuitive. When they use these numbers, unless you crack open a calculator, you have no idea how fast it actually is.
In the new system as as v –> ∞, fw –> 10, and I find that annoying.
MisterFrog@lemmy.worldto TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name@lemmy.world•with bean speed ahead1·10 days agoWhoever changed the warp scale in Star Trek: grumble grumble, warp 9 and warp 9.5 sound barely different.
I dunno about you, but I prefer a scale for velocity where as velocity goes to infinity, so does your scale
This is what a by-election is for. Someone is removed/resigns from office, or dies in office, surely you just run a by-election?
At least this is what we do in Australia for our house of reps (there’s a different system for the senate since electorates are state-wide).

Which I personally think is hilarious (ranked choice being implemented would be better, of course).

I get this is a joke, but speed limits shouldn’t be set by politicians (which I’m hearing apparently is/was a thing?). Politicians have a role to play in getting regulations standards re-written by people who understand the decades of research on this.
Speeding is mostly a design issue, but I still expect people actually follow the rules.
Strong Towns, NotJustBikes, City Beautiful, Practical Engineering, among others have made great videos on this topic.
A lot of people justify speeding, and it’s kinda dumb, if you ask me.
Just because you “feel” it’s safe, doesn’t mean it actually is.
Plus, there’s a fantastic way to reduce road deaths, just have fewer cars, switch to public transport, but that takes a long time to implement if the political will doesn’t exist.
Top comment is about how Chinese censorship is not overt, but behind the scenes to stop your speech from spreading. It’s definitely censorship, but no one is going to arrest you for criticising the government online (to a point), they’ll just stop you from reaching others with your message.
I’m just saying that there definitely is censorship, just not what some “China Bad” people imagine.
My comment was in opposition to the “China Good” crowd who also pretend like everything bad said about China is not true.
Reality is inbetween, in my opinion. It’s a country with good and bad points.
