Not that I’m aware of. I’ve gotten letters like that for my trash collection and I think gas company, but nothing for the electric company.

Same here. I remember BF3 days after work with my coworker.
It’s not been the same since those releases.
This organization is nuts.
This is from their FAQ:
Why don’t you include men in your mission statement? It’s not right to objectify men either.
A:
While both men and women can be sexualised, it is primarily women who are being objectified, and women who are far more likely to be negatively impacted by it as demonstrated earlier.
When men are sexualised in media and advertising, they are not typically demeaned, portrayed as decorative objects or posed as vulnerable and submissive in the ways that women are. Men are also rarely dismembered and presented as a collection of sexualised or individual body parts. Instead, men are depicted as hyper-masculine and strong. The sexualising and objectifying treatment of men may serve to enhance their power and status rather than to reduce it.
Having said that, we do not support ‘equal opportunity’ objectification. We encourage individuals to speak out against objectification including when men and boys are subjected to it.
I kept wondering why their focus was only on “girls, girls, girls” all over the place and everything was pink.
So media involving the dehumanization of men is totally cool with them. A game about raping men would be totally fine and no issues there because it’s not “typical”. Just don’t do anything to the girlys.

As if the sexualization of men doesn’t have a negative impact on men as a whole…telling men that the only way to be sexy is to be masculine and strong isn’t at all damaging to them? How does that make any bit of fucking sense? Not all men can live up to those unrealistic depictions with a 6 pack and big muscles nor should all men aspire to be that.
The fuck is wrong with these people…
But people forget about the DLC that is expected of the consumer to buy for the “full experience”. Some games don’t have a complete story if you don’t buy the DLC or you can’t access all the features without DLC, such as multiplayer games that don’t let you play with your friends if you don’t have that specific DLC pack.
So not only is it a $70 price up front, they also want you to spend, at least, an extra $30 on the new DLC season pass or buy the DLC separately at a slightly higher cost over time. Also not including the special edition packs with extras, either physical or digital, that add to that initial $70. Ubisoft is the biggest asshole in this space, going as high as $120 for a day 1 release.
If it doesn’t already, upgrade it to a cheap SSD. You can get them as cheap as $10 brand new nowadays for 128GB. You’ll increase the boot time and make the future plans much better.
Eating lol. Trying to stop that now.
Now I’ve been developing better habits like choosing to eat better foods, eat less (especially when I’m bored), exercise, and got a new hobby making videos for YouTube/other platforms.
Places are changing this especially now that tap to pay and Apple Pay/Google Pay/etc are getting more popular.
A day off in the middle of the week sounds best to complement the Saturday/Sunday weekend. I’ve thought of doing this if my business ever takes off and I have employees.
Wouldn’t it be nice to take a break in the middle of the week? Just to have Wednesday off to be able to take a breather and rest and then come back for the next two days?
I often feel like I need that some months and just randomly take a Wednesday and it helps a ton.
Granted, the fact that other people are working helps. Both in knowing people realize my usefulness as they experience my absence and others out and about who are they for me to enjoy that day (restaurants, movie theaters, etc.)
I did this and they removed it and I reposted it and then they threatened to ban me lol
Granted this was decades ago when I was a teen, but I doubt they have changed.
Lemmy’s isn’t jokes as much as something the community is going to circlejerk and rage over for the millionth and a half time.
I don’t even go to the comments on some things anymore because I just know it’s going to be someone raging over something and everyone else joining in.
I used to play a game with myself and try to guess the top comments on a Reddit thread. I was usually accurate…
Post about a box? Top comment is going to be about the cumbox.
Post about broken bones? Top comment is about sexual activities with mother.
Post about a toilet? Top comment is about a poop knife.
I and many others agree. But I got like 75 games for free off there. Only played like 3 of them lol but I think of it as my backup if anything happens with steam.
I was suspicious when they said it used to be called nix 🤨
I agree with the other person as an EV owner, myself. I charge at home, yeah, but road trips are a bitch to do in an EV, as it is, for one example.
Granted, apps like PlugShare and my EV’s navigation system help plan routes, but it’s still got a lot of range anxiety that you might end up with a dead battery somewhere.
Too often do I go to a station on the map and the cables are cut by some vandal or the machine simply isn’t working for one reason or another or it’s being hogged by someone who is using it as their personal campground/personal free charger and they live a block away or it’s just being a pain for no reason, like a lot of Shell chargers at Amazon stores, Kohls, etc. Tesla superchargers are the only real working solution here that are always dependable for me but they’re not everywhere and the recent vandalism against them made it worse in some places for anyone to reliably charge.
It’s not on the same level as hydrogen station availability is, for sure, and the convenience of charging at home helps, but doesn’t do much when out and about far from home.
I went to pick up some family up at our nearby airport and it was insane how many places gave me issues trying to find a charger to top off my range. This place was hogged, that place was broken, that place didn’t exist, that one was only for the dealership…finally had to just bite the bullet and waste 10 miles to get to a Tesla supercharger that had 11 spots available and in 8 minutes of charging, I was back on the road. Took me less time charging than I did driving everywhere to find a charger.
Range is still really crappy on new vehicles barely touching 300 miles in some cases, which decreases quickly in the first year by at least 20-50 miles and more as time goes on. We’re seeing more touching 400, but I’m skeptical of their estimates. I did see one with 1,000 out of China, but really wondering how they’re managing to pull that off and how truthful it is in real world use.
Again, definitely not on the same level of hydrogen, but for those used to gasoline and the convenience of finding a gas station in the middle of the Mojave desert or the convenience of carrying a Jerry can, EVs are still somewhat near this level. I’m honestly amazed since electricity is literally everywhere that the system is the way it is. I feel frustrated knowing electricity is flowing through those wires above and yet I could still end up stranded somewhere because of one reason or another.
I got into an argument with my local post office for doing that. The mailman was notorious for marking packages as delivered when he hadn’t even left the damn parking lot. Every morning at 8 AM I would get a delivered notification to my email.
The USPS employee I was talking to said “oh that’s normal, we all do that.” Huh? You mark a package as delivered and you haven’t even left the parking lot?! How does that make any sense? Why even provide a status update to me at all if you do that??
Thank you!
I’ve actually never cooked beef in this way (done steaks before) but never this cut or teriyaki style but it turned out great!
I wanted WaBa Grill the other day and decided I’d rather not go out and spend money on fast food and instead increase my cooking knowledge and actually using my kitchen and the food I buy. In total, I spent between $15-$20 for all the ingredients and I have enough for at least 2 bowls. But this same price is about how much a single bowl like this would have cost me there, so I’ve saved pretty well on this one and I had fun doing it!
It was very delicious, much better than I was expecting, but I think I’ll change up next time by using less teriyaki sauce (it flowed out of that bottle QUICK lol) and using a different cut of beef. But other than that, I enjoyed every bit of this meal. The avocado meshes so well with this in a way I can’t describe and I’m not a fan of sesame seeds, but I did it for the look and actually it wasn’t that bad tasting to me on this. I think I will do that again too.
Maybe check out emulators if you’re okay with controllers? I just downloaded CoD MW2 for Xbox 360 on my Steam Deck because I can’t play with a keyboard and mouse and the controller scheme just works as it should.
I use Xenia Canary and there is a netplay version too.
Hmm…that’s an interesting point. They don’t claim to be a local entity, they’re known to operate for almost half of my state as a corporation. But where I see your point is that this may be a corporation trying to make their image feel more down to home. “We’re not like those other big, bad corporations. We’re your friends!”
I never thought of that before.
