  • Yes, the right will allow their people to get away with a whole lot if it means they get to “win”. The left does not operate that way, even the fuckwit centrists don’t pull that shit every time.

And excuse me but the reason I want these people to face serious consequences is because they committed a serious crime and hurt people. Literally the fact that people were harmed so badly is the entire point!

Your comment would carry a lot more weight if it made any fucking sense. The only way it does is if you pretend as though the near entirety of the left doesn’t exist and as though that group does the same cult bullshit the right does, for which there really isn’t much evidence at all beyond a LOT of people being mad that the person they need to vote for is often a pretty pathetic alternative to the insane fascist that the conservatives keep propping up.

Christ, we can do two things at the same time. We can take care of the victims AND persecute the criminals. One is a MUCH bigger challenge than the other and so obviously we’re more focused on that. Fucking D’UH.

  • Um, I think the leadership of a dangerous, somewhat unpredictable, and very globally connected country being either pedophiles or pedophile supporters does impact everyone, even me as a dude in Canada. I do want the victims to be taken care of, and part of that involves proving, beyond all doubt, that they were hurt and showing not just them but everyone that we’re not going to let the people who hurt them get away with it. I’m so fucking over rich people paying bogus settlements and getting to continue on living the high life and abusing people. I want to see them face real consequences.

Absolutely we’re all the “we” in the story. For different reasons and to different degrees but this involves all of us.

  • Fucked if I know. All I’m saying is that if Microsoft has a price tag on it then they shouldn’t put ads and the only reason I replied to that first comment was because it was saying that ads are ok if the product is free(and it isn’t). The only times Windows has been free for me is from college but that is paid for, one way or another.

I definitely get the same sorta thing, you just gotta practice managing it. Usually I’ll say something like “I have many thoughts and don’t wanna mansplain but I don’t know your familiarity…” and then ramble. Context is important, and a lot of people also don’t know where we’re at or where we’re coming from so if we just bust down the door and start telling them how something is then that’s kinda on us to manage.

And if they don’t take the clear opportunities I give them to slow me down and then say I should have somehow known better I ask them how on earth I was supposed to know what they never shared. People will often chill out after that.

  • Ok, but right now way more Republicans are for sure on that list(they just can’t seem to leave kids alone) and Biden isn’t in power to release the thing. Also leftists don’t particularly like Biden all that much, and it’s funny when the right thinks they’ve figured out a gotcha because it’s just a projection of how much they’ll let their own guy off the hook for stuff they know is awful.

If most of the Democrats go down then most of their voters would be largely ok with that. And at least the Democrats have made some moves to push this issue forward in the last couple weeks, which for them is refreshing given how little energy they often put into anything at all.

  • It’s wild that, despite not having any evidence to supprt your theory, you’re still trying to “both sides” this one.

You need to deal with the fact that conservatism attracts terrible people. Maybe a couple stupid people get fooled by some obvious propaganda but the overwhelming majority are simply excited by the cruelty the ideology offers. It’s entire core value is in assigning different values to people and the range is so large that it’s happy to be as close to slaves and kings as society will allow.

Absolutely I’ll bet there are some shady center-right Democrats that the US believes are leftists. Fact is that most of them are just greedy which is what keeps them as centrists instead of going full fascist. You have to look at the information staring you in the face and accept that the further right one goes the worse company there is to be kept.

  • The US fell into this nonsense long before Trump took it to full, unashamed facism. The people of that country had lots of time and opportunity to just simply not vote for the objectively evil people and even right now currently have the ability to vote.

The amount of gerrymandering it would take to make a 10% minority pull off a win is so far beyond what we have today. But it’s not a 10% minority, it’s over 70 million people who handed Trump the popular vote. They could simply have just not done that but their hate and fear mean they’re more than happy to support such a wildly cruel party over and over again. It’s not the military that’s forcing them to vote for dear leader, not yet anyway, and there have been decades of opportunity to sort this shit out before this point.

No weak excuses, that shithole country has forced its way into everyone else’s business and needs to shape the fuck up.

  • While I don’t fully disagree with your points, it should be noted that the “where are the 2a people?” comments are all targeted at the conservatives who get in a huge fuss whenever a school shooting starts gun ban talks but who have been largely silent every single time their own party does absurd, objective, obviously tyrannical things. People were out in the street during covid, fully armed, complaining that they weren’t allowed to go to Denny’s anymore but sit back and continue support the second coming of the Nazi party.

There’s a lot more to it than whatever you’ve got going on and I would hope, especially given a couple of your first few good points, that you’d understand that.

Also the short barreled gun thing has to do with concealment, obviously. While I have no doubt that the reasons have good racist undertones, because the US is just that kinda place, you can’t seriously be saying that the lack of range of a sawed-off shotgun makes it fundamentally and universally less dangerous. A pistol is “less effective” than a sniper rifle but I can get plenty close to you with one before you even realize there’s about to be a big fuckin’ problem.

You talk a big game about other people having their heads up their asses but you may need to check the location of your own when you next get the chance.
