TransDesiTrekkie@startrek.websiteto WomensStuff@piefed.blahaj.zone•Hey girls! Feelings about the new Superman?1·11 days agoAgreed and she really didn’t feel like a character. Referring to hawk girl.
Yeah the female characters were not done well at all. Which is disappointing but sadly I feel like an issue with many superhero films.
TransDesiTrekkie@startrek.websiteto WomensStuff@piefed.blahaj.zone•Weekly natter thread 21st July1·11 days agoI didn’t want to make a full thread on this but I’ve been meaning to get my eyebrows done DIY since I can’t afford to get it done at a threading place.
I feel like I don’t know where to begin with that but I want to try to learn and hopefully be able to do it somewhat well.

I definitely agree with you on the Superman movie not representing the female characters well. I feel like most superhero movies don’t do a good job of this to begin with.
I felt like characters like Hawkgirl should have had more characterization or more to do. I felt like a majority of her scenes were screeching and hitting people with her weapon. Haven’t read comics with her character but she needs more backstory.
Lois I had issues with but it’s mostly what you mentioned in your post.
Overall the representation wasn’t great. I felt the overall theme of kindness was a nice message but it centered a lot on the male characters way too much.
TransDesiTrekkie@startrek.websiteto WomensStuff@piefed.blahaj.zone•Weekly chat thread 14th July1·13 days agoI’m new here and not sure how to word things well but I’m a trans woman and I’ve been feeling a lot of dysphoria and anxiety with everything that’s been going on.
I’m trying to find some ways to stay positive though but it’s been rough.
I’m a fairly new user to Linux and I first got a laptop with Pop OS since I read that it was a beginner friendly distro and great for gaming. Although I didn’t use it for gaming it was great to get to learn how to use Linux and use it for everyday purposes.
Later with lots of trial and error got Fedora Linux working on an old laptop with bad battery life that was lying around. I wanted to try my hand at a bit more of an advanced distro. So far I’m loving both distributions and learning more each day about how things work.

I wish you didn’t have to deal with this at all. I’m so sorry. 😔

I’m also sorry that you live in a very transphobic place and I hope you can stay safe.
I used to in the past but I feel like lately it’s not as much. I use lotion a lot more since my skin tends to get dry a lot.
