  • I know this might not change the fact that you do feel guilty, which is valid. But to maybe add someone else’s perspective:

From what you have described, I don’t think you actually have anything to feel guilty about. You did not yell at your colleague or anything, you were merely a bit unfriendly. Which is fine, it happens. It might warrant an explanation or apology, which you have already given. I don’t even think the food is necessary, but if it helps you feel better, it won’t hurt either.

The best thing you can do is move forward and maybe come up with a way to handle the next time such a situation comes up. Like maybe a phrase you can use to let them immediately know that it’s not a good time but not their fault.

  • This is not really chit chat, but is it intentional that almost all the past weekly chat threads are showing up as pinned for me or is that some kind of bug?

There are six pinned threads visible for me right now – four chat threads (except the one from last week for some reason) and two other ones. So I have to do some scrolling to get to new posts.

I’m just wondering because I vaguely remember that there was a similar situation in another community a while back and it was due to a bug.

  • The problem is that women are a minority on Lemmy. So when men freely post in a women’s community then we end up with a community that mostly consists of men’s voices. It doesn’t matter how sympathetic and supportive they are, in the end the women get drowned out again and the male viewpoint is the one that is carried into the world (from a community named women’s stuff).

I’m very glad that there are lots of supportive men out there, but this just isn’t the space for it.
