Yeah, Rumble is the platform where arseholes like Joe Rogan, Alex Jones, and Tucker Carlson have their podcasts and shit. It’s also based in Florida. Go figure.
This is an excellent comment, though. I think I may have learned a few things about my video streaming ecosystem.
Invidious is a YouTube frontend. This instance is the only one still working after Google went on the offensive.
Nebula is a paid platform that is run by the creators who use it. Loads of intellectual fibre and original content.
Floatplane (also paid) is a Patreon-esque platform owned by Linus Media Group (who also manage Linus Tech Tips). I only used it to watch DankPods, though.
- PeerTube: YouTube for geeks (the good one)
- Odysee: YouTube for the alt-right (not the worst platform I’ve ever used, but in my opinion not worth it either)
- Rumble: YouTube for nazis and conspiracy theorists (avoid)
I also prefer PeerTube because it has more of the accounts I subscribe to on YouTube than the other two.
I also quite like Invidious, Nebula, and Floatplane.

Honestly, this sounds like a job for Tor. Install Orbot, possibly enable a bridge, and you should be good to go. Onion Browser is recommended for use with Tor, but Safari will work just fine.
I have never tried calling over Tor, but I have never had an issue with the speed before (although it is inherently slower than a VPN).
Tor Bridge Types
- obfs4 makes your traffic appear “random”
- snowflake disguises your traffic as VoIP
- meek-azure makes it look like you’re connecting to Microsoft services
- meek-amazon makes it look like you’re connecting to AWS
- meek-google makes it look like you’re connecting to Google

Proton is better. It supports PGP, the search function is nicer, and there was a third reason I can’t quite seem to remember.
You could give Tuta a try if you like, though.
This Invidious instance still works. Don’t push it too hard, though: it’s all we’ve got.
Also, if you log in to YouTube in Chromium or something (assuming you’re on desktop) and then use yt-dlp with the
--cookies-from-browser chromium
argument, it should work. This is also possible on Android via Termux and iOS via iSH if you copy~/.config/chromium
to the app.

Not true at all. Unix was originally spelled UNICS, and it was a clone of MULTICS.
MINIX is a contraction of “Mini-UNIX”.
Linux was named by combining the author’s name (Linus) with the suffix -ux, which was a popular convention among operating systems at the time.

Never Ubuntu. Kubuntu is as close as I am willing to get, and even then I’d rather go for Mint or Debian.
