I was in a large, beautiful house with my whole family and captain picard there. The people punishing us had 250k dead crows that they wanted to bury us under, and they just used the cameras to keep track of where we were and they were trying to trick us into getting caught near the open doors or letting them in. Their only restriction was that they couldn’t go inside without permission. On top of that, I was asked to explain a crappy joke with lots of buildup to Picard, but he kept getting distracted and I had to keep restarting.

I’m an American who moved to Germany and it’s rough. I was a curious kid and enjoyed every subject except for history in school, so I retained a base level of knowledge in most of those subjects. I did not in history, and my dumb ass realized a couple of years ago that I wasn’t confusing them, there was both a Thirty Years’ War , and a Hundred Years’ War.

Anyway, I’ve been slowly educating myself about at least German history, and it’s a lot easier to get into it as an adult.

I think you might have meant to reply to the person who replied to me, but my first thought for what would appeal to the female gaze is binging with babish: the forearms, the cooking, and the way he talks seem like things that would work for a broad stroke of heterosexual women (though it’s not actually an example, as it’s not shot by a woman).

Things like Henry Caville in a bath are fan service, not the male gaze nor the female gaze, but things like rob liefeld comics draw men through the male gaze (the origin might have been only for the depiction of women, but just as the original description of the male gaze expanded on Sartres concept of the gaze, idea of the male gaze has been more fully developed and applied to the perception of men). Things like muscles so big there’s no chance they can reach any part of their own back fall into this.

As for the female gaze itself, yeah, I’ve read fanfiction wherein male body parts are basically directly mapped to female ones (presumably because the author is not familiar with men’s bodies). I think it would be a lot harder for me to recognize a subtler variant of it though, as I’m a woman. I wish there were a large enough body of work for the female gaze to be explored in more depth.

I think it would have been funnier (but maybe less accessible) if the thrower had turned into an absurd comic book character exaggeration of masculinity. That’s also the male gaze and would make more sense in the context, but I do get that most people think of the male gaze as something applied to women.

You’re right that we need to weigh these types of crimes, and their scale is not an excuse to bury our heads in the sand.

It’s also good for things like chili or dark stews (~1-2tbsp for the entire pot), which tend to have enough strong flavors involved that absolutely awful coffee doesn’t overpower them. I know that sounds iffy, but it’s good.

It’s difficult for me to weigh crimes at this scale. Would it be worse to kill 80% of Chinese people or all Brazilians? Many more people would die in the former situation, but a culture would be more fully erased in the latter. Obviously there’s some subjectivity involved, so I’m not looking for an answer, it’s just hard for me to actually grasp the enormity of these types of crimes.
