There should be a forced tutorial for that (and tags) when you first open the store lol

Edit: Steam should assume more curation roles.
Never going to happen. It’s valve lmao.
Also porn games will keep getting delisted and removed because ultimately it’s the payment processors powering the store that have the final say. And nobody there is interested in indulging in your content checks, they have their own.
Do a thorough quality and content check (i.e. no rape, kiddy diddling, spousal abuse, any other type of abuse, etc.) on ALL of them, and throw the slop away. Then do this for every other genre
There are games that talk about or depict abuse as part of their story line. I think adults can be trusted to engage with art that has adult themes. In the end the hardest part (of letting adults in but not kids) is enforcement, games are rated for that reason but it’s on parents to care.
I tried it once (I’m on a different side of the planet basically), default flavor, and it was so mid. I don’t understand how they got so big.
I might be on an old enough version that it still functions as intended without that permission (its from 2021 lol). Photos on the other hand nags you to update and eventually completely stops you from using it unless you “update”. Thankfully I can disable both apps so it’s not a big deal for me
I can believe that, even on android their functionality has been declining for years. Can still edit (poorly), and copy on my slightly outdated version, but overall the experience is worse than before.

Maybe if you don’t do it through a riser and your mobo itself is horizontal it’ll hold.

Depends on which country’s MIC. I can point to at least three that wouldn’t want you to.
real_squids@sopuli.xyzto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What old technology are you surprised is still in use today?English1·16 days agoThank you. I was mostly worried about running 5 screens at all times. Every mirror replacement system I’ve seen in pictures uses really bright screens and the E has 3 infotainment screens on top of that.
So if we count them as 5W each (12.3 main displays are probably hungrier, but camera displays are way smaller, and they’re almost certainly IPS), that’s ~25W, so 150 meters by your calculation? Doesn’t sound that bad tbh. And on top of that the 12.3" ones can be turned off.
real_squids@sopuli.xyzto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What old technology are you surprised is still in use today?English1·16 days agoI think those are legal where I’m at, but if you have both mirrors and cameras it should be allowed by default. Also in the case of Honda e, I wonder how much power the screens and “mirrors” are eating, in a tiny car like that it might be noticeable.

real_squids@sopuli.xyzto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Babe can you refill my drink from the cloaca dispenser please?English1·16 days agoYou don’t have to accept pairing, if both devices are discoverable they can see each other. It doesn’t have to be some app, you can be discoverable with 0 apps installed. That’s what I’m talking about with rudimentary tracking.
edit: pairing mode = discoverable, accepting pairing is not required, and obv the machine has to be perma discoverable for “tracking” to work
real_squids@sopuli.xyzto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Babe can you refill my drink from the cloaca dispenser please?English9·17 days agoAnyone with a spectrum analyzer can see people using their earbuds, they can’t deduce any useful information from that. Several analyzers? Yea, can triangulate signals, so what. They still can’t know for sure who they belong to, since BT doesn’t transmit identifying info unless you’re pairing (aka discoverable), and even then it can be randomized.
Also I posted in in a different comment but I’ll leave this here too.
I can get a lot further from my phone than I’d be from the drink machine in who knows how many fast food spots before service drops.
A typical fast food restaurant has dozens, if not hundreds of wifi and bt devices. Nothing surprising when your phone has to fight to get loud enough for your buds.
From a quick search, bluetooth classic has 79 channels, and if there’s 2.4Ghz Wifi in use, it has 14 in damn near the same frequency range.
If you’re worried about tracking - there are far easier ways to do that than hope your BT devices are discoverable and then try and match the (possibly randomized) device IDs to you.
real_squids@sopuli.xyzto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Babe can you refill my drink from the cloaca dispenser please?English2·17 days agoDepends on the device, there was a story recently of a Nissan infotainment system that was perma-pairing as long as you had the options screen open afaik. If your earbuds are pairing close by, as is the machine - you can probably make some rudimentary motion tracking. Gonna be inaccurate as hell though, and it relies on both devices permanently being in pairing mode.
I can get a lot further from my phone than I’d be from the drink machine in who knows how many fast food spots before service drops.
This part though is way easier to explain with interference. A typical fast food restaurant has dozens, if not hundreds of wifi and bt devices. Nothing surprising when your phone has to fight to get loud enough for your buds.
real_squids@sopuli.xyzto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why covering our shoulders with a mantle or blanket is so efficient at warming us?English2·17 days agoMost likely works, since evaporation helps keep your temps down
It doesn’t matter if it’s done by a playable or non-playable character in my opinion. My litmus test is if you can write a book with it’s depictions, then you can show it in a game too. The only difference is the audience.
edit: and by “write” I mean “without it becoming a hateful manifesto”. also I’m not talking strictly about steam here, but anything that uses those payment processors
