I’m your northern neighbor. I live in nowhere land on the east coast of Canada. A house/homestead on 250 acres of forest land. With another 250 acres behind me of just trees. We have a little hand built log cabin in the middle as a getaway and “retirement” pad so we can give the house to the kids so they have somewhere to live. I’m pretty solitary now as an old fella aside from my family.

I have been shot at thank you very much. For just doing my job trying to help people. A good chunk of Americans certainly have been shot at with feeding the war machine for decades and having one of the highest mass murder and gun ownership rates in the world.

It’s crazy how it all makes so much sense that I’ve always wanted to just live in a cabin in the woods and exist.

I just found out yesterday that I am Bipolar, have severe anxiety and depression, PTSD and likely ADHD but it’ll take a while to figure out cause they all have overlapping symptoms. Apparently I’ve been playing as a beginner on expert mode all along. Getting actual diagnosis for these things is a while thing unto itself where I live. It’s not real easy to get a psychologist unless you pay out of pocket. I don’t have money for that.

It took a long time. Had to quit booze. Straighten up my life some. Have a family to care about. Almost die from crazy cancer. Before I made the calls. Don’t beat yourself up too bad.

It ensures others fight your battles for you when it takes you standing up first to ensure others help.

I am not speaking about voting. I am speaking about revolution. Americans wouldn’t understand that I suppose. They certainly don’t seem to.

Don’t leave. It solves nothing and allows growth of tyranny. Fight back.

They skipped the disabled. They’ve been killing them for centuries.

There are cops, who are bad enough in general and then there are those that couldn’t become cops. If you can’t make that cut imagine what you can do now that you’re Gestapo.

My province until very recently had the same stance and so all the docs did as well.

Just working on diagnosis at 50. You’re lucky if you worked it out by 30.

KEXP is great and listener funded radio. In Canada we have CKUA in Alberta that is independent and listener funded as well.

University radio is also a great place to find new artists.

My father in law used to give me a hard time about cooking. I asked him to name one pro female chef (this was almost 25 years ago, there weren’t all that many well known at the time). He couldn’t. He never bothered me about it again.

I’m a 50 year old dude. Cooking used to be a big one when I was younger, now it’s more accepted. I also do all the clothes and food shopping for our family of five. Even the teen girls of the family ask me for help with hair, makeup and clothes. All that punking around paid off.

It was pretty common where I live for men to knit and crochet. We are traditionally fishermen in a cold climate. If you can knit a net you can knit mittens too.
