Why do you think change from within impossible?

That’s exactly what Trump and MAGA did to the Republican party.

Violent revolution brings change but rarely the kind of change most of those who engaged in it actually wanted.

And how will we do that?

Organizing to do what?

You can and should support them as they align with your values, but you’ll never get enough votes for them to have any chance of overthrowing the big two. It has to be changed from within, unless you’re prepared to try violence.

Where?

Progressive social change has always occurred under the auspices of the left-most of the two major parties. That’s just how it overwhelmingly is. What’s not to agree with? How do you think progress will happen next time it happens?

I don’t think you’re listening. That’s one of the issues both sides share in common that sucks. Doesn’t change the fact they’re our only hope.

We may have got here eventually anyway, but things are a lot worse for Americans right now because of Trump’s Republicans. Let’s not lose sight of that when complaining about the shit they have in common.

There’s also nobody who might emerge out of the right who would bring something that will make life for everyone better. Only the Democrats have a chance of doing that and engineering a better system that might eventuallyundermine their own political hegemony. Would they without pressure? Of course not. But the right will never even be pressured to do anything like that intentionally by it’s base, almost by definition basically.

What a vague definition that totally misses the specifics that matter. There’s an overwhelming variety of food additives.

Do you know where they eat some of the most processed food in the world? Japan. Some of the highest life expectancy in the world.

What are they doing differently? Without knowing what exactly the commonalities are, there is no value to this study.

So it should. We’re supposed to be more civil than that. But as others have said, this is mask off. Trump unmasking what has been lying under the surface of the capitalistic elite for decades. Utter contempt for the working class who are basically regarded as slaves, and anyone with any influence or power who challenges them is painted as a traitor, criminal, and honorary slave as well.

Over her proposing to impeach to him? I didn’t but I can imagine. Does he want to “deport” her as well?

We’re currently enjoying a right wing government with a few Trump inspired figures, skyrocketing cost of living, rising crime, and very disconcerting xenophobic and quasi racist musings coming out of certain public figures. But blissfully and blessedly we’re a long way away from the chaos your brothers and sisters are going through now and the hell that may be soon to come.

The fear is the global world order falling apart may not be long in following.

Well said yeah. There are definitely some nuances in the way to defend yourself in a country where everyone is armed to the teeth, and a whole lot of cynicism given the circumstances. My words are aspirational at best, I get that. In reality, I’m saying what I’m saying because I share your concerns for your people.

I have no concerns about defending yourself in your own home or even your neighborhood if it comes to door to door mob on mob like that.

If they open fire on unarmed civilians fracture is much more likely than if they open fire on an armed milita. I’m just looking to encourage avoiding giving the authoritarian side any excuse to claim the higher ground.

I’m saying you armed Joe citizen can’t win an armed conflict against the military. That’s all.

Victory worth having has to be won through peaceful civil disobedience, or there’s a very good chance a lot of people will die for nothing.

I’d like to hear arguments to the contrary, but so far it’s crickets.
