You should be more focused on the complete monsters of those documentaries rather than the system used by society. Monsters have always existed and always will exist regardless of the system. Drawing attention away from them and letting them hide in society just let’s them get away with it.
It’s almost like you need an economic system to become a billionaire, control the labor of thousands of other people, and buy off other systems of accountability with your ill gained wealth. Weird, anyway, the form of society and how money/resources are allocated doesn’t matter at all, but somehow communism is still bad for some reason, even if it means more equality and lack of oligarchs.
Nah, I don’t think so… you just have an ideological difference than the person who replied.
You blame individuals for the ills of society. You call them “monsters”. Barring fringe cases, these monsters are made by their experiences and environments. You can worry about individuals and play a game of whack-a-mole until the end of time, but if there’s still fertile ground for “monsters” to be made then it’s a fools errand.
Hope that clarifies the ideological difference here.
I think you are missing the point. The system is the monster. It’s what creates, gives power, hides, and protects those people so they can get away with it. Sure, all societies have horrible people, but only one system rewards and protects the worst of the worst and guilt trips and kills anyone else who tries to reveal or oppose them.
Cool. Not getting into an argument about capitalism vs communism here or in my previous statement. Think I have done that enough on Lemmy and I only had one great conversation about it with 1 other person who didn’t have a snide remark or sound like I kicked their puppy. Most of Lemmy seems to get all rabid about capitalism no matter what topic. I didn’t even say a thing about it. You assumed it. You downvoters assumed it. So, again, you do you.

Totally missed my point but that’s ok. You do you.

Kettle meet pot!
Look, I get that you’re incensed about a perceived misunderstanding here but I’m not seeing how a point is being missed.
If you are in agreement and people are taking something wrong then explain.
Have a nice day regardless
