I did, I was openly laughing about how the plot contradicted itself and all the Amazon product placement.

Maybe it is the second most watched movie…you’re all here talking about it, after all.

23 minutes for me and I paused, clicked ahead five times to see if it was exactly the same the whole way, and boy howdy it was and it was all bad.

That’s how long my wife and I made it into “A Family Affair” with Zach Effron and Nicole Kidman. Gave it a try but holy cow was it bad. And we typically don’t turn off movies or leave shows.

Surely it can’t be worse than Borderlands to name a recent piece of rubbish I saw, currently sat at 10% on rotten tomatoes

There is apparently an action scene in which ice cube needs a thumb drive, so orders one via Amazon drone delivery. The drone goes down in all the chaos, and our characters have to barter with the homeless man who found the downed drone by offering him Amazon gift cards. The man is a conspiracy nut who thinks the government is tracking him, but a $1000 Amazon gift cards convinces him to risk his life for the characters.

So yes, it is worse than Borderlands.

I’ve seen the thumbdrive/buying from Amazon sequence on Instagram. I’m going to have to watch the full scene now for myself on Prime.

So glad I didn’t watch this, I was fairly interested from the trailer.

Is it at least entertaining from a bad movie perspective? Or is it the worst of all worlds and also consistently boring?

If it’s a ridiculous trainwreck I might see if I can find a source for bad movie night

Borderlands is Oscar material compared to this thing. I watched it thinking it couldn’t be that bad and it was worse than I thought an amateur movie could be.

I didn’t even know this movie existed until a couple of days ago when it hit digital release. Then I wondered how a War of The Worlds movie can possibly fly under my radar. Then I saw it was Ice Cube, and that made me go hmm for sure. THEN I saw the ratings.

But it isn’t a war of the worlds movie. Just shares a name. Or the the description of the movie is o bad. Isn’t he looking for his daughter.

I had not heard of this either, but what is it about Ice Cube? I haven’t seen him in a movie in a long time, Friday era, I don’t remember him being bad in that (or earlier films), no good now?

I wonder if the episode of The Studio featuring Ice Cube was self-aware commentary on this movie. In that episode he stars in a Kool-Aid movie.

That seems to be the story with 90% of Amazon’s content attempts. Technically it may have been Universal Studios, but let’s be honest, it’s clear Amazon was in charge given the intense product placement embedded in the screenplay.

What’s the original story? This isn’t war of the worlds the invasion at least from the description I’ve read seems to just be using the same title.

Well we didn’t realize it was going to be him sitting in the chair with that annoying UI the entire movie. We kept being like “OH HES GONNA GET UP” or “OH HIS DAUGHTER IS DYING OUTSIDE HE HAS TO GET UP AND SAVE HER” and then he got up and we were like “OH SHIT THE MOVIE IS GONNA START” but he was locked in the room and he went and sat back down. It was funny but horrible too.

It’s just boring man. I mean watch it for as much as you can get into it for. But don’t expect a hilariously bad movie that ends up being fun because of how bad it is.
