I got my mom with that once as a kid. She brought me some dinner, I looked at it, sifted it around a bit, then asked “Where’s the rest?” I was just screwing with her, but it turns out she had actually split part of it off to give to my half-sister, who had already eaten but wanted part of mine anyway (Which she ended up throwing away) and my mom gave it to her, so she thought I had actually figured that out and so she just admitted everything.

DeusUmbra@lemmy.worldto A Comm for Historymemes@lemmy.world•Visitors from far Cathay!English10·6 days agoLast time I went, I went as a steampunk time traveler, and the group I went with were my “crew” that I had picked up across time, which is why none of our costumes matched and some didn’t have any. My group thought it was hilarious.
DeusUmbra@lemmy.worldto A Comm for Historymemes@lemmy.world•Visitors from far Cathay!English53·6 days agoI’ve been to many ren fests, and I can say that no one cares what you’re dressed as, as long as it looks dope. I once saw a man in a weird mechanical raven-man outfit, giving small colored rocks to children. I’ve also seen Jesus there many times.

Also, with a library card you can get access to Kanopy, which is a streaming service that is free as long as you are a teacher or have a library card. I got to watch Monty Python’s The Life of Brian last month on it.

The real answer is to vote for the lesser evil, then go out and arm yourself for the inevitable, as only violent revolution can solve this problem at this point.
DeusUmbra@lemmy.worldtoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•what was bro even thinking lmaoEnglish1·11 days agoThe thing is, from what I can see the comments that Weren’t removed are mostly what you are saying, defending artistic license. The stuff that Was removed is a bit more… graphic. I didn’t get to see All of them, so I can’t say for sure, but some of the ones I read were a bit much. Again, most of the people who defended this book and the contents within weren’t banned or had their comments removed, just downvoted.
DeusUmbra@lemmy.worldtoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•what was bro even thinking lmaoEnglish11·11 days agoI came too late to see what the guy said, almost makes me want to know, but I think it’s better that I don’t.
I’ve been seeing that a lot, especially on posts about Stephen King saying that the Epstein List isn’t real. Really fun to watch people try to defend actual pedo stuff with “You just don’t understand the context!”
DeusUmbra@lemmy.worldtoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•what was bro even thinking lmaoEnglish3·11 days agoI don’t think there is much of any kind of literary context that can defend writing multiple pages of children having sex in graphic detail, especially in a book where the sexual abuse of children is not a primary theme, nor anything regarding child sexuality being a major theme of the book. It literally just takes a turn from “children scared of scary clown” to “the 11 year olds all decide they Must pressure their friend into a gangbang so they won’t die virgins” and then moves on from it entirely as if it never happened. The context of the story is entirely unchanged if you remove the scene, as we can tell from EVERY adaptation of the book into film.
DeusUmbra@lemmy.worldtoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•what was bro even thinking lmaoEnglish51·11 days agoI disagree, this is more of a “Hey, why the hell is this in here when it has nothing to do with the story and does nothing for the plot? What does this say about the author?” kind of discussion. It’s like when people call out the fact that the goblin dudes in Harry Potter are clearly racist depictions of Jewish people, it’s weird and says a lot about the author. Are we saying to ban Harry Potter? No, read it if you want to (just don’t pay for it) but keep in mind that the author is a terrible person.
I don’t see how I am being proven wrong at all. The MAGA crowd just is too stupid to realize that the reason you’d hide a list of pedos is that you are on the list, but if they saw the list and saw he was on it, they’d defend him anyway. They already have been, for years, any time the photos of Trump and Epstein hanging out come up.
DeusUmbra@lemmy.worldtoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•what was bro even thinking lmaoEnglish182·12 days agoLook, I don’t know why you feel the need to defend a part of a book that is, as you just said, a Child Orgy, but you do you, and maybe you should talk to a therapist.
All I can say is; when I write about children, or think about children in any way, I don’t ever think about them having sex, whether that be with adults or other children.
Hey now, MAGA has openly supported child molesters in the past, it is nothing new to them.
DeusUmbra@lemmy.worldtoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•what was bro even thinking lmaoEnglish1604·11 days agoMan, who would’ve thought that the guy who wrote a child orgy scene would turn out to be a pedophile? Edit: Didn’t expect this to blow up and result in multiple bans… whoops.
Fascists, Oligarchs, go through them all and you’ll find a reason to shed tears at the end.
DeusUmbra@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•Hackers Can Remotely Trigger the Brakes on American Trains and the Problem Has Been Ignored for YearsEnglish2·13 days agoSounds like a useful tool for any revolutionaries out there.
No no, there Are too many people… just of a specific social class.
Already exists, along with Feminist Monopoly (It’s just monopoly but female players get extra money when they pass Go), Cheaters Monopoly (Again, just monopoly but with cheating being allowed, but if you get caught you have to put on handcuffs.), and many other Really stupid Monopoly ideas, like Monopoly Go: The Mobile Game: The Board Game. Just look up KamSandwich on Youtube, he’s got a lot of videos about weird Monopoly versions, like Fortnite Monopoly which doesn’t even play like Monopoly at all.
To be fair, for some it wasn’t for “the benefits” of being a victor, but instead to try and convince the Russians to not invade them, which usually didn’t work anyway.
