One of the perks of my job is that we have 50 hours a year in addition to our holidays that we can cash in whenever we need them.

Everyone takes them, but my boss uses a handful each year, stays late every night, only uses half his holidays and loses the rest. I’ll never understand it.

I bet that person is a struggle to converse with.

Most employers in my experience want the detail of what you were doing. They don’t like 2 year blanks.

Having multiple jobs in a few years doesn’t show you are unreliable at all. There could be a number of reasons (short contracts, change of ownership, company closing, moving house, having kids, conditions changing) that forced your move.

I’ve got jobs in the past because my CV showed I was able and willing to take jobs when opportunities came my way.

I’d say they’re the same thing colloquially for many (physical currency), though your point is correct.

If my kid wanted a quid to go on a ride I might say ‘I’ve no cash on me’ or ‘I’ve no money on me’, even if I had my bank card, which is money by the correct definition.

On a serious note, I lived in rural France for a few years and the ridiculous bureaucracy, the lackadaisical attitude to everything, and the 4 hour breaks in the middle of the day drove me insane.
