So it’s fucked up. Four people were shot by a terrorist, two of them have died, and there are a significant number of people who didn’t care until they learned a dog was also killed. That’s fucked up, not because people care about a dog, but that they didn’t care about the people.

Frankly I didn’t expect saying so to be met with such hostility. That bothers me almost as much as the lack of respect for human life.

I’m not antisemitic. I know that I’m not, even if I can’t prove that to anyone who cannot see into my mind. But in words and actions, I’ve never done or said anything antisemitic.

I believe that Palestine should be free. Passing a law isn’t going to change my mind or affect my behavior. If someone calls me antisemitic, they’re either mistaken or lying. Passing a law won’t change the truth behind their words.

Except that’s my point. The people he assassinated were also innocent. The people he tried to assassinate were innocent. This wasn’t like a mob hit or an act of war. This was a terrorist attack.

It’s fucked up, but there will be people more upset that he shot a dog than that he shot four people, killing two of them.

It’s also one of the most disappointing tourist attractions, with the most common complaint is that it’s smaller than most visitors imagined. It’s like waiting in line to summit Everest. The experience is not as rewarding as knowing you’ve done it.

I’m not picking a fight, I asked you what you meant by documented and confirmed. A coincidence is not a documented or confirmed case of a prophetic dream, it’s a coincidence.

Like if you said that there was a documented and confirmed case of a human that can fly, and then pointed to that one lady who fell out of an airplane and survived, I would have the same objection.

Customs isn’t the organization that does that. If you’re a target for espionage, someone at the NSA or CIA or somesuch organization will find ways to tap your devices, but they don’t do this to every phone imported to the country. Just consider the sheer volume of data that would produce, and the number of analysts who would need to review it. I wouldn’t assume privacy, though. Act like they are watching everything.

What do you mean “documented and verified”? You mean someone dreamed about something that happened? Or someone consistently had dreams that could predict the future? The law of large numbers would suggest someone would eventually dream about something that ends up happening simply by coincidence. It would be a statistical anomaly if it never happened.

It makes sense if you remember that conservativism doesn’t actually exist, and all people claiming to be conservatives are just narcissists who pick and choose what they care about in any given situation.

This is exactly where the 2nd amendment and the Blue Lives Matter movements collide. If both civilians and police have the legal right to arm and defend themselves with lethal force, and neither has a responsibility to show restraint or demonstrate cause, then you have created a situation where an innocent civilian and a good cop could kill each other in self defense and neither would have done anything wrong.

Edit: I’m not going to respond to each comment saying there are no good cops. My point is that the cop does not have to be a bad cop for the civilian to have reasonable fear for their life, nor does the civilian need to be a criminal for the cop to have a reasonable fear for their life. Both are legally justified in killing the other person, and both are legally entitled to own a weapon capable of killing the other. That’s not a society, that’s a war. Ir we didn’t already have a police force, and you described their function in their current state to a peaceful society, they would think you were mad.
