meanwhile, Japanese:
white metal (shirogane) = silver
black metal (kurogane) = iron
red metal (akagane) = copper
yellow metal (kogane) = gold
blade metal (hagane) = steel
blue metal (aogane) = lead
Japan out here naming metals like they’re Power Rangers
Blade is my favorite color.
What’s brass?
I couldn’t find any native japanese word for it, but there is 黄銅 (oudou) “yellow copper”, borrowed from chinese 黃銅
Cobalt:
“Blue metal is lead? What the fuck?”
Also, what’re Aluminum, Platinum, Gallium, Mercury, Tungsten, Titanium, and Bismuth?
Pfft… Just leave copper out near the ocean and it turns green all by itself.
Aaand PPAP is now stuck in my head.
