Everything we warned about Trump has come to pass or is in the process of happening.

    So yeah. Objectively NOT overreacting.

    This needs to be reworded.

“Fascists will tell you you are overreacting. No, you are reacting normally as one should to cruelty.”

It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.

Another good one. A little more general but definitely still applies.

This just reminds me of that old trope:

    Q: “Are you a spy?”

    A: “No.”

Q: “Hmm, that’s just what a spy would say!”

It’s true that if things are headed towards fascism and you tell people, they’ll tell you to stop overreacting. But if things are not headed towards fascism and you tell people they are, they’ll also tell you to stop overreacting.

In this case if someone told me that things in the US are headed towards fascism, I’d say “well yeah, obviously”. But, if someone else told you to stop overreacting, you couldn’t draw any conclusions from that.

Maybe they’re right though. Maybe there is truth to both statements. Like the boy who cried wolf story where people who tend to be aware of fascism rising are also people who claim that everyone that isn’t in lock step with them are fascists or Nazis. People being told not to over react are people like Alex Jones who every now and then get things right but with dramatic flair.

No it’s definitively people who accurately predicted where things are now that have been told to stop overreacting

Think about how the world was 10 years ago. If someone were to accurately predict how today would look, would they have been taken seriously?

Of course not. Just like people aren’t being taken seriously today regarding climate change. Just as people aren’t being taken seriously today when they say the US is following the path of nazi Germany. How concentration camps will (are) be built, how gas chambers might happen. How genocide against minorities is in progress.

I’ve been told I’m overreacting multiple times over the years. And you know what the worst thing is? It got worse, faster, than I thought it would. I underreacted.

Things are going to be bad

The point isn’t that you’re right or wrong its the medium you’re using to convey that message. The right figured it out. The left are clueless and show no signs of figuring it out. There’s no chance the left makes any kind of progress towards anything in the next decade.
