Awesome list! Some new names here that I need to check out.

Venom Prison is another really good band along the same lines.

Their Animus album has really powerful anti-fascist themes, which is honestly really cathartic to listen to.

Tread carefully with Venom Prison. Larissa has made some TERF-y statements and followed groups like Gays Against Groomers. It was a few years ago but I’ve never seen any explanation or addressing of the issue.

Not a buff by any stretch.

Bands I would recommend trying if you haven’t heard of them before:

Fuel Fandango (partly sung in Spanish)

    The Detroit Cobras

    Robots in Disguise

    Nova Twins

    The Ting Tings

    C2C (specifically the album Tetra)

Yaught (there’s more than one band with that name, the one I’m thinking of made the song I Thought the Future Would be Cooler).

    Heart

    Wet Leg

Off the top of my head, that’s a good start :-)

So I’m really into symphonic metal, which can super corny haha, but I love it, especially when the lead singer is a woman. I find the operatic high notes really breathtaking.

I grew up listening to Nightwish, Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil, etc., which eventually sent me on a rabbit hole to newer and lesser-known bands like Empress, Oryad, Starkill, Blackbriar, and Frozen Crown.

Two cool bands with trans artists: The lead singer of Owlbear, Katy Scary, and Cab Ride Home, which is no longer active because the lead singer, Danica Roem, is now a state senator in Virginia.

This is a mixed bag of genres, sorry OP. I also don’t often research artists because I just care about the music, so I’m not super knowledgeable about them in general

Kim Petras - slutpop (word is that she’s trans)

Dirt Poor Robbins - folk?? Eclectic

    Tessa Violet - pop

    Amelia Day - folk

    Elise Trouw - rock, pop

    Haim - pop?

Mäneskin - rock. The guitarist?bassist? Is female

Steam-powered Giraffe - steampunk pop? Main is trans

    Jaira Burns - pop

    Upsahl - angry pop

    Caravan Palace - electroswing, pop

    Madison Beer - pop

    Peach Face

    Mitski

    Mothica

… I mean. I could literally go forever.

The Tessa Violet recommendation is such a blast from the past to a simpler time on the internet. I haven’t listened to any of her music since she went by Meekakitty. I miss 2009.

Poison Girls (punk band fronted by Vi Subversa) - here are two of my favorites:

And along the lines of punk, Crass has an album called Penis Envy which was a project by its female members Eve Libertine and Joy De Vivre and is an absolute masterpiece as far as I’m concerned.

If soft acoustic is your thing, check out Humbird - for example, Right On.

I’ll edit this with some more when I have time :)
