      That was my first thought, but these are algorithmically/procedurally driven, not AI driven. Which makes them highly reliable, configurable, and consistent. Unlike AI machines which will hallucinate cup holders everywhere that are too large or too small to hold any actual cup.

        Algorithms are AI. Generative AI like Large Language Models and Image generation would be useless in manufacturing

    I’ll believe it when I see it, and gleefully watch it fuck up all over the place to where it’s thrown in a dumpster by a GC that doesn’t have time for its shit.

      I’ve worked in enough warehouses to know that a lot of owners would rather burn the building to the ground than pay to repair a piece of machinery, and I suspect these things will be more trouble than they’re worth.
