Store bought ramen, shin black beef bone broth. Marinaded the ramen eggs over night! It’s easier than I feared!
that looks heavenly. Shin Black is the GOAT and your eggs look delicious.
This may be an unpopular opinion, insofar as any opinion professing a favorite brand of instant ramen can be unpopular, but while shin black probably has the best broth, albeit by a fairly narrow margin, I think Nissin Gold has the best noodles and is the best overall.
Yes yes, I know, “death to the heretic” and all that.
Not a heretic at all! Nissin Gold does have exceptional noodles with that perfect springy texture. I’d also throw Samyang ramen into the mix - their noodles have this amazing chew that holds up really well. Everyone has their prefernces and discovering different brands is half the fun.
I’ve never seen Nissin Gold, I’ll have to look out for them! I’m sure they’re delicious as well!
never heard of that one but you can be sure i’ll keep my eye out!
Shin black is great! The eggs are really good. I made this batch a bit stronger than the first, and they’re at exactly the flavor I’ve hoped for!
what’s your marinade (roughly) if you don’t mind? I have done the korean drug eggs they are divine but mine were a bit strong
For 6 eggs
1.13 cups of mirin or aji mirin .38 cup regular soy sauce .38 cup dark soy sauce .75 cup of water
A teaspoon of cayenne pepper 3 cloves of garlic 2 star anise
Simmer on stove with some extra water, about half a cup if you add the pepper, garlic, anise, those are optional
Let cool to room temperature, medium boil egg, peel, place in jar, place cool marinade, sit in fridge overnight
The amounts are weird because it was not originally for 6 eggs
1.13 cups of mirin or aji mirin .38 cup regular soy sauce .38 cup dark soy sauce .75 cup of water
I would like you to elaborate on these intriguing numbers
*edit, just saw your final line… how many eggs was it originally for?!
I don’t remember. Less than 6 though?
hey thank you!!
Nice Old Town Blue plate 💙 just like my mom’s
Corningwear is great stuff!
this reminds me of haru 's garlic egg ramen :)
i want to try more authentic ramen :)
Just stopping by to say it’s “marinated”. (Yes, I’m kind of annoying. Sorry! ❤️)
