A bison gored a man Tuesday after a large group of visitors got too close to the animal in Yellowstone National Park, officials said.
The 30-year-old from Randolph, New Jersey, was treated for minor injuries after being gored around 9:45 a.m. in the Old Faithful area, according to a park statement.
Park officials didn’t release the man’s name or condition, saying what happened was under investigation and no more information was available for release.
He was the second person gored by a bison already this spring in Yellowstone. A 47-year-old Cape Coral, Florida, man had minor injuries after being gored in the Lake Village area May 7.

Gored sounds more brutal than minor injuries. Gore. You know
That’s the word for being stabbed by a horn? Unsure how it has any other meaning, bison have horns and when they use them it’s known as goring.
gore 3 of 4 verb (2) gored; goring transitive verb : to pierce or wound with something pointed (such as a horn or knife) gored by a bull
I didn’t in fact know that. I only knew “gore” or “gory” as in very bloody and digustingly brutal.
Every fucking year some dumbass trys to pet them or something. They are not fluffy cows like bumper stickers, and shirts you can buy in the park claim they are.
Of course they all read: Don’t pet the fluffy cows.
Look they are killers and hate mankind. My theory being around them is they remember what we did to their ancestors. I believe its in their genetic code, and that’s why they attack us if we get to close. It’s a theory. Regardless how harmless they look they are not and will take any opportunity to fuck you up if possible.
Edit: and just add this news isn’t surprising I mean every year this happens. Me and wife last year were there when they kicked a man out of the park for attempting to put his kid on the back of one. It was right at the Old Faithful Inn. Dumbasses everywhere.
I hope that poor bison is left the fuck alone.
A win for the animals! Feels good.
Good! Bison +1, Stupid Humans 0
Good Bison.
What is it about megafauna that makes us go stupid mode near them?
I’ve been to places with bison, and people just can’t seem to keep a respectful distance. I’ve seen multiple instances (encroachment, not goring).
they think they are domesticate cattle.
Even domesticated cattle can, and will, fuck you up if you approach them wrong or spook them.
They had a shirt in the gift shop last time I was in the park.
Walk up and pet the buffalo, let your kids ride the moose, drive fast around corners. We thank you for your support.
